TORONTO

Oxford Properties Group (“Oxford”), a leading global real estate investor, asset manager and developer, today announced a $28 million investment to redevelop Yorkdale Shopping Centre, one of North America’s leading retail destinations. The relocation of tenants and renovation of a key property corridor is designed to meet demand for prime retail space for more than a dozen of the world’s leading luxury brands. Over 900 feet of hoarding has been installed in the central corridor, which will soon be home to highly sought-after brands eager to launch their first Canadian standalone boutiques.

“Over the past decade, our strategic approach to attracting the most iconic global brands has led Yorkdale to having the largest collection of luxury retailers in Canada. By investing and renovating our space, we are making room for more of the world’s leading brands, as well as enhancing and expanding our dining options to cater to both shoppers and employees,” said William Correia, Director, Yorkdale Shopping Centre. “The momentum is evident as we renovate significant spaces and reposition stores to meet the demand of brands and shoppers.”

Stores have already been relocated from the central corridor to other areas of the property to allow for this significant renovation project that will take place over the next year. Customers are encouraged to visit Yorkdale.com for updates on new locations. The first brands that will open in the renovated corridor will be announced later this year.

New retailers opening this season that are outside the central corridor include Dolce & Gabbana, World of Ralph Lauren, Chinese jewelry brand Qeelin, and wildly popular Anine Bing which is known for its effortless chic designs. Fifty-three new retailers opened locations at the property in the past few years, including 29 first-to-market brands, more than half of which operate in the luxury category.*

Dining & Entertainment

The renovation of Yorkdale’s food court, known as Dine on 3, is another key redevelopment designed to accommodate the 18 million shoppers and nearly 7,000 people who work at the property. The enhanced Dine on 3 includes expanded seating for 1,200 diners and nine new restaurant concepts, bringing the total to 23 eateries. This spring, Earls opened its Toronto flagship restaurant with design, menu, and a wine list inspired by the Yorkdale customer. These developments bring the total number of quick service dining options to 35, in addition to the 12 traditional restaurants at the property.

*Last year, Yorkdale welcomed Acne Studios, Diptyque, Emporio Armani, Fendi, Ganni, Mango, Vinfast, Japan's cult-favorite coffee shop %Arabica and a flagship NIKE store. In 2020 and 2021, Golden Goose, Thom Browne, Tudor, Celine and Alexander McQueen opened boutiques. Other destination brands include flagship Louis Vuitton, Canada Goose and OVO stores as well as Van Cleef & Arpels, Piaget, Zadig & Voltaire, Panerai, Vacheron Constantin, Bottega Veneta, Chloé, Valentino, Balenciaga and Furla. Luxury Canadian department store Holt Renfrew features dedicated Gucci, Dior, Fendi and Prada boutiques.
